Cooking classes in Lagos | Experience Miele Nigeria

Cooking classes in Lagos | Experience Miele Nigeria

I love cooking, marked closely by eating. Food combined with travel, is right up my alley - TAB

Looking for something fun to do in Lagos over a beautiful weekend?! Then, try out Miele cooking classes in Lagos.

I found out about Miele Nigeria on Instagram. That platform sha….Anyway, I sent them a private message and made enquiries about the next class and its associated cost.

Immediately I booked a class and paid N15,000 registration fee. I couldn’t be more excited about learning the art of gourmet cooking & networking with people outside my field, hence I looked forward to the day!.

ARRIVING AT MIELE SHOWROOM

Finally the day arrived and as per usual, I arrived early. The showroom was well arranged and super clean. We, the participants, were taken to the meeting room. While we waited for other participants to arrive, we were offered a nice cup of coffee.

THE HISTORY OF MIELE

The Managing Director, Mustapha Olorunnimbe, shared the value proposition of the german brand via a projected presentation in the meeting room where we were sat. The high-end brand has been in existence for over 100 years but only opened its first showroom in West Africa in 2013, starting with Nigeria.

Miele sells high-tech appliances comprising of laundry care, cooking products, fitted kitchens, wine conditioning units, dishwashers and self house cleaning vacuum. Miele’s credo of being ‘forever better’ is a company policy.

TOUR OF MIELE NIGERIA SHOWROOM

After the presentation, we were given a tour of the showroom. We got to see the appliances I mentioned above and appreciated the values that differentiate the miele appliances from the regular ones in the market. My favourite appliance was the fridge that keeps different wines at different temperatures. Money is good sha!

Wine tips: Avoid putting Rose in a refrigerator for long because it will loose its flavour. Rather use the wine conditioning unit which can be purchased at Miele Nigeria.

There is also a laundry room that caters to high profiled individuals, people who appreciate the value of Miele laundry equipments and have a deep pocket (not the we we.lol)

COOKING CLASSES AT MIELE NIGERIA

Now to the reason why we are here, the food!. LOL

After touring the showroom, we went upstairs to the kitchen to prepare the mouth watering 3 course meal. By now, everyone had bonded and were all chatty. We met with our chef for the day. He was someone who had 15 years professionally cooking experience, though joined Miele just over 3 years ago.

The menu (see below) and a material detailing the process of cooking all the meals was shared and we begun. We had so much fun cooking together, bonding further and asking questions.

Finally, we made all three delicious meals and the rest they say is history. We had a nice fine dining experience and called it a day.

FINALLY ON COOKING CLASSES IN LAGOS

I had no regrets attending the Miele cooking classes. More than ever, I look forward to joining cooking classes both at home and abroad. Perhaps, I should start with Sushi classes in Lagos and graduate to cooking classes in Turkey, Vietnam et al.

Lastly, I would advise that you take cooking classes either at your home country or whenever you travel for the following reasons;

  1. It’s a way of better understanding a country's cuisine.

  2. You get to learn practical cooking tips

  3. You will see the importance spices play in preparing a country’s cuisine. Not every time oil, curry and thyme.

  4. It’s a way of networking and interacting with people

  5. Finally, you eat something different which affords you the opportunity of an unforgettable culinary experience.

Thank you for patiently reading. You have read my cooking class experience, now I would love to read from you. Please share your experience with us in the comment section if you have ever attended a cooking class or if this is an alternative fun activity you would likely consider.

Till my next adventure, stay blessed.

Margaret.
