Hi there!

I'm Margaret, a female traveller from Nigeria, and welcome to my personal blog , TheAjalaBug.com.

Here, I document my adventures in travel and life experiences generally. Hope you get inspired!

Maison Fahrenheit Hotel

Maison Fahrenheit Hotel

Maison Fahrenheit is a high-end boutique hotel with 30-rooms, located in the heart of Lagos and suitable for fast business travellers. The hotel is chic and the service is personalised. This is my second time of lodging at the hotel and it comes highly recommended.

I won't hesitate visiting over and over again. Don't get it twisted, the hotel has its drawbacks but its strengths overshadows the weaknesses. Before I dive into my stories, let me shed light on this.

PROS

  1. The rooftop bar, Rue 80. The bar comes alive in the evenings to the early hours of the morning. They serve drinks and finger foods only.

  2. In-house restaurant, La Spiga. The restaurant serves a mix of local and international dishes.

  3. There is a board room which seats 10-12 people conveniently.

  4. There is also a conference room which seats 30-50 people depending on the seating arrangement (classroom or banquet).

  5. Parking is available

  6. Unique decor everywhere, especially on the staircase and in the rooms, giving the hotel a western feel

  7. All other regular hotel amenities are available in the room. A fridge, bathing soap etc

A good kick for the hotel is the in-house special delicacies. Notable ones being the rice and chicken taco, roasted plantain (Boli) & sauce and the Okro soup served at La Spiga. The burger and sandwich are my favourites from the rooftop bar.

CONS

  1. No gym, however, the hotel provides aerobic classes within the premises at no extra cost for all the lodged guest

  2. Remember I mentioned the hotel is suitable for fast business travellers. That said, the rooms and bathroom is compact. I personally think the shower area in the standard rooms can be improved.

  3. A little touch up on the rooms is needed. I noticed the paint in some of the rooms have started to wear.

HOTEL IS SUITABLE FOR THE FOLLOWING

  1. Fast business travellers

  2. Corporate meetings and interviews at the board room

  3. Small and knitted wedding reception at the courtyard

  4. Outdoor parties at the rooftop

  5. Media events at the conference room or the rooftop. I am sure you all know that DJ Cuppy hosts her Cactus event at the rooftop of the hotel

  6. Buffet at the La Spiga Restaurant

Now to the stories

MY FIRST COMING :)

At the beginning of 2017, myself and my dear friend Ada decided that for every month we worked hard, we would give ourselves a treat by staying at a luxury hotel for a night. Yes!....girls can do hotel staycation. This chic hotel, Maison Fahrenheit, was the first hotel we lodged at and we loved our stay. The food choice, the rooftop view and ambience et al. We let our hair down and just relaxed.

MY SECOND COMING :)

My love for the hotel remains alive, reasons being that the facility has been well maintained and the staff are extremely courteous and helpful. Obviously, the management team is extremely competent.

I was pleasantly welcomed by the GM, Ijeoma Ugamah and showed around by Mr Oyeniyi Abiodun. He took me on a tour of the hotel, showing me the different styles of rooms available.

Now, let me take you on a tour of the hotel....

Final thoughts and tips

Planning on lodging at the hotel?... then I will suggest you choose a room away from the rooftop. The noise is not extremely terrible at night but the farther away, the better. :), except you don't mind.
